RB Leipzig has won its first Bundesliga game under new coach Julian Nagelsmann, beating VfL Wolfsburg 2-1 at Red Bull Arena on Saturday night.
The victory was achieved thanks to a goal from substitute Robert Lewandowski, who scored the opening goal after just five minutes and added another later in the second half.
Nagelsmann made several changes to his team for this match, including bringing on Lewandowski, who had not started any of Leipzig's previous games this season.
The change paid off immediately as he scored within three minutes of coming on, putting Leipzig ahead in the game.
Wolfsburg responded well to their early setback, creating several chances in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net.
Leipzig continued to dominate possession throughout the match and deservedly took all three points in the end.
The win is a big boost for Nagelsmann and his team, who have struggled since taking over from Thomas Tuchel earlier this year.
It also marks a positive start to the Bundesliga campaign for Leipzig, who will be hoping to continue their good form in the coming weeks.
