Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured their third straight victory in Ligue 1 on Sunday, defeating Strasbourg 3-0 at the Parc des Princes. The win was PSG's second consecutive victory over the Alsace side and marked their eighth straight league victory against Strasbourg.
The match began with PSG dominating possession and creating numerous chances for themselves. However, it wasn't until the 25th minute that PSG finally broke through through a well-taken goal from Lionel Messi. The Argentine forward scored his first goal of the season to give PSG the lead they needed.
Strasbourg, however, didn't go down easily and were able to create some chances of their own before half-time. But PSG's defense held firm and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made several crucial saves to keep Strasbourg at bay.
In the second half, PSG continued to press and create more opportunities. They eventually found the back of the net twice more through goals from Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe. Messi also had a chance to score but missed it, while Mbappe hit the post in the final minutes.
The win puts PSG top of the table with 24 points, two clear ahead of second-placed Rennes who have 22 points. Strasbourg, meanwhile, remain in mid-table with just six points after their loss.
Overall, PSG's performance was solid and showed their dominance in the Ligue 1. The team is now looking forward to their next match against Lyon on Wednesday, where they will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten run in the competition.
