On Sunday evening, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) continued their impressive form by beating fellow Ligue 1 side Marseille 2-0 at the Parc des Princes Stadium. The match was played in front of a packed stadium as both teams looked to secure top spot in Group H.
The game started off well for PSG, who took the lead just six minutes into the first half through a goal from Lionel Messi. The Argentine forward showed his class on the ball, dribbling past two defenders before slotting home a powerful shot that found the back of the net.
Marseille responded quickly, however, as they were able to equalize just four minutes later thanks to a goal from Thomas Lemar. However, PSG refused to let up and scored again shortly after the break when Kylian Mbappe slotted home a penalty following a handball by Marseille goalkeeper Mathias Vailly.
Despite the loss, Marseille will be disappointed not to have taken all three points, but they can take heart from the fact that they have already secured a place in the knockout stages of the competition. PSG, on the other hand, will now look to maintain their unbeaten record in Group H as they aim to secure a place in the Champions League round of 16.
